Generic Tenoretic Chemical Name: Atenolol

Common uses Generic Tenoretic is a beta blocker and diuretic combination used to treat high blood pressure. Before using Warning: if you have angina or have had heart problems, do not suddenly stop using Generic Tenoretic without first consulting your doctor. If your doctor decides you should no longer use Generic Tenoretic, you must stop Generic Tenoretic gradually according to your doctor's instructions. Do not take Generic Tenoretic if you are also taking mibefradil. Additional monitoring of your dose or condition may be needed if you are taking amiodarone, clonidine, indomethacin, prazosin, verapamil, diazoxide, digoxin, digitoxin, disopyramide, flecainide, ketanserin, lithium, or quinidine. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Use of Generic Tenoretic is not recommended if you have a history of heart block. Generic Tenoretic may cause an increase in urine or in frequency of urination. To prevent this from affecting sleep: do not take any dose of Generic Tenoretic after 6 p.m. Store Generic Tenoretic at room temperature, away from heat and light. If you miss a dose of Generic Tenoretic, take it if you remember the same day. If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. Cautions Do not stop taking Generic Tenoretic before checking with your doctor. Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Generic Tenoretic. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Generic Tenoretic. Using Generic Tenoretic alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Generic Tenoretic may cause increased sensitivity to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun or sunlamps until you know how you react to Generic Tenoretic. Use a sunscreen or protective clothing if you must be outside for a prolonged period. Your doctor may have also prescribed a potassium supplement for you. If so, follow the dosing carefully. Do not start taking additional potassium on your own or change your diet to include more potassium without first checking with your doctor. Before taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes decongestants such as phenylpropanolamine and pseudoephedrine. For women: Generic Tenoretic has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Generic Tenoretic during pregnancy. Generic Tenoretic is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Generic Tenoretic, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. For patients with diabetes mellitus: Generic Tenoretic may mask signs of low blood sugar such as a rapid heart rate. Possible side effects Side effects, that may go away during treatment, include dizziness or lightheadedness, headache, mild drowsiness, or unusual tiredness. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience difficulty breathing, muscle pain or cramps, weakness, or rapid or irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If you take too much If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow heart rate, dizziness, weakness, fainting, coughing, and trouble breathing. Precautions While Using Generic Tenoretic

Generic Tenoretic may cause some people to become dizzy, drowsy, lightheaded, or less alert than they are normally.
