How to Use FrontPage

To publish your web site:

PLease Contact Us you need Frontpage Extension. It is free.

Please donot delete any default folders and files which support Your FP

index.html file in your /var/www/html/ folder must be covered or overriden

Click publish FrontPage web

Enter http://www.yourdomain.com

Enter your username ( webmaster ) and password when asked

Wait ....

Your site is on-line

If you run into problems please report the error message from the text file that FrontPage writes in your temp directory. Password protection of frontpage is different.

Note:

  1. It would be better if your index file is index.html to cover the old index.html file, but you can also use index.htm, index.cgi, or index.php after deleting the index.html file in your /var/www/html folder.
  2. You must use http://www.yourdomain.com not your http://hostname/~yourdomain.com as your Host url.
  3. You cannot change any default setting except index.html page in your website. If you have changed, you cannot use Frontpage any more.
  4. You cannot usa both FTP and Frontpage to upload your files. FTP uploading may destroy your default Frontpage setting.
  5. If you have enabled Frontpage, you cannot use rewrite modules.
  6. You can download your website using FTP.
  7. If your default Frontpage setting has been destroyed for some reasons, you need delete all your default Frontpage setting using FTP and ask us to re-enable your Frontpage.
