To register the source code of your Web site, you must comply with the following criteria:
- The source code must be saved in a single file and formatted in HTML or ASCII (plain text).
- The single file must satisfy the U.S. Copyright Office’s source code requirements for computer programs. For example, if the source code is more than 50 pages, the single file need only contain the first and last 25 pages of source code. (A single page is equal to 40 lines of computer code). To review the U.S. Copyright Office’s source code requirements, click the “Computer Programs” link on Step 3 of the c-Site process.
Once the file is properly formatted and complies with the Copyright Office’s source code requirements, follow the submission directions on the c-Site Step 3 screen.
