Congratulations on your choice to use WebSite Tonight to build you Web site! WebSite Tonight allows you to design a Web site with ease.
To Set Up Your WebSite Tonight Account
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- From My Products, click WebSite Tonight Accounts.
- Click Setup Account next to the account you want to set up.
- To accept the terms of use, select the checkbox and click Next. The Hosting Control Center window opens.
From the Account Setup page, enter your information in the following fields:
- Enter User Name
- Create a user name that you will use when logging in to your WebSite Tonight site.
- Password and Confirm New Password
Create and verify the password that you will use when logging in to your WebSite Tonight site.
- Click Next.
In the Select Domain area, select one of the following:
- Select a domain from this account
- Select an existing domain name from the list
- Enter a domain not registered in this account
- Enter your domain name in the space provided
- Click Next.
- Verify your account information, and if it is correct, click Finish.
- Click Launch WebSite Tonight.
To Set Up a Coming Soon Page
To Create a Coming Soon Page
- To create a coming soon page, click Create Coming Soon Page.
Complete the following fields:
- Click a thumbnail image to select a template
- Determines the design of your coming soon page
- Enter the text of your Coming Soon message
- The text you want to display on your coming soon page
In the Banner Settings area, select one of the following:
- Show Dark Banner
- Displays a dark version of the banner.
- Show Light Banner
- Displays a light version of the banner.
- Hide Banner
Prevents the banner from showing.
- (Optional) To add an image or logo, click Change Image in the Upload an image or logo area. You can select an image from the Image Library, or go to the Upload Image tab to upload your own image and then click OK. For more information about using the Image library, see Using the Image Library.
When you are finished creating your Coming Soon page, you can select one of the following:
- Preview
- To see what your Coming Soon page looks like.
- OK
- To save your Coming Soon page without publishing it.
- Publish
- To publishes your Coming Soon page and makes it live on the Internet, click Publish, then click Publish All.
To continue designing your site, click Home, located on the top right of the Publish Details window.
To Design Your Web Site
- From the Getting Started page, click Design Web Site.
In the Web Site Information page complete the following fields:
- Enter a default contact email address
- Forms submitted through your site will be sent to your default contact email address
- Enter your company or individual name
- Your company or individual name will be displayed in the footer of each Web page
- Favicon
- Click Browse to upload a favicon. A favicon (or favorites icon) is an icon that is associated with a particular Web page or site. For information about designing your template, see Adding a Favicon.
In the What type of site do you want to build? area, select from the following:
- I want to create my Web site from scratch
- Allows you to design your site without any preset content added.
- Select a pre-built site
WebSite Tonight now offers pre-built sites that allow you to select from a list of styles. Navigation buttons and page titles are automatically generated. Each page offers supporting text to guide you through building a powerful Web site. Select the type of site you want to build.
- In the Page Title column, you can keep the existing title, or delete it an add your own.
- If you are creating a Web site from scratch, you can change the page layout by clicking Change Layout.
- To add a page to your site, click Add Page.
- Click Next.
- On the Template & color page, click the thumbnail that represents the template you want to use for your Web site. You can select additional templates from the Category list.
- In the Select Color area, you can select a color theme for your Web site.
- Click Finish.
- To publish your Web site, click Publish. To begin customizing your Web site and adding content, click Go To Page Designer.
