Paid inclusion is a search engine inclusion concept in which Web site owners are charged a one-time or recurring fee to have their Web pages listed in search engine and directory indices. Several search engines offer paid inclusion programs.

Unlike free inclusion, paid inclusion programs usually guarantee that submitted sites will actually be added to the engines' databases. However, as most spider-based engines eventually track down and index Web pages through their regular Internet crawls, the primary advantage of paid inclusion is speeding up the indexation process.
